Dana Diament is a senior Yoga Medicine teacher who is passionate about blending eastern and western perspectives in her teaching. Her classes are based in a strong understanding of functional anatomy and weave together intelligent sequencing, effective alignment, playful flows, and practical insights. With over 15 years of practice that has included both advanced asana to challenge her body and therapeutic poses to recover from injuries, Dana uses this experience in her teaching methods to inspire and guide students at all levels of the yoga practice. She encourages each student to dive deep into the awareness of their body and mind so that they can connect to their own source of wisdom, creativity, strength and tranquility for use in their every day lives.
Dana is currently working on her 1000hr teacher training certification with Yoga Medicine, and travels across the globe to assist and teach at Yoga Medicine trainings. She also writes about yoga, meditation, health and anatomy for Yoga Medicine as part of her ongoing apprenticeship and mentoring with Tiffany Cruikshank.
She was officially introduced to yoga and meditation at the age of 12 by her dance teacher and developed a regular practice in her early 20s, strongly drawn to the mental and emotional benefits she experienced at that time. She completed her 200hr teacher training with Duncan Peak and Keenan Crisp from Power Living Yoga Australia in 2013 and began teaching straight away.
Born in Israel and raised in New Jersey, she now lives in Byron Bay, Australia where she teaches classes and workshops. Dana has a Bachelors degree in Economics from Cornell University and an Associates degree in graphic design from Parsons School of Design.
